About: Mission

Our Mission:
NJAEYC Southern Chapter exists for the purposes of leading and consolidating the efforts of individuals and groups working to achieve healthy development and constructive education for all young children. Primary attention is devoted to assuring the provision of high quality early childhood programs to young children.

Our Strategic Goals include:

  • Professional Practice Improvements—Facilitating improvements in professional practice and working conditions in the field of early childhood education to be achieved in part through professional training opportunities as well as facilitating training / networking for Directors and promoting NAEYC Accreditation.
  • Public Support—Improving public understanding, support and funding of high quality programs in centers, homes and schools serving young children and their families.
  • Growth—Building and maintaining a strong, diverse and inclusive organization. Over the past several years we have had initiatives to increase membership of family childcare providers as well as college students.

Our Vision:
We will become a large, diverse network of well trained, committed caring and highly respected professionals, working in partnership with parents and community to influence funding and public policy that provides all children with safe and loving early childhood experiences.
